At a glance
You're creating a flavor-packed jar of marinated tvarůžky by layering cheese, aromatic vegetables, and herbs before letting them soften and soak up all those spicy, tangy tastes over at least a week (or up to three weeks for maximum flavor). The main thing to remember is that patience pays off here—the longer they sit in the cool oil, the better they become.

Layer them up
Get a clean, dry jar with a tight-fitting lid ready. Layer the sliced tvarůžky, onion half-rings, sliced garlic, sun-dried tomatoes, and sliced chilli peppers (seeds included), alternating as you go.

Herbs
Sprinkle with pepper and add a couple of bay leaves. If fresh herbs are in season, feel free to add your favourites too – a sprig of lovage, rosemary or thyme all work beautifully.

Tomato oil and sunflower oil
Pour in the oil from the sun-dried tomatoes first, then top up with sunflower oil. Use enough oil to make sure everything in the jar is fully covered.
