Bakeware, Tart Rings and Baking Mats

Bakeware, Tart Rings and Baking Mats

Nordic Ware bundt pans are cast aluminium with a non-stick finish, in the Tradition, Braided and Blossom shapes. Alongside them is the Easter Bunny in a Basket pan. For tartlets and tarts there are perforated stainless steel Patisdécor rings, 8 and 24 cm across, and a perforated Silikomart silicone mat. For pralines there are polycarbonate moulds for 24 pieces, in cube and cone shapes. An oven thermometer, a Pyrex glass measuring jug and an acetate cake collar for straight sides on cakes and mousses complete the range.

Frequently asked questions

How much batter fits in a bundt pan?

The Braided pan holds 2.8 litres and the Blossom 2.4 litres. The Tradition is 27 cm across and 11 cm tall. Fill the pan no more than three-quarters full, as Nordic Ware recommends.

How do I look after Nordic Ware pans?

Before baking, brush the pan with butter and dust it with flour or cocoa. Wash it by hand in warm soapy water and don't leave it to soak for long, as the manufacturer recommends.

Why is the tart ring perforated?

The holes let the pastry bake evenly, sides included. The ring has no base, so stand it on a mat or baking tray and simply slide the finished case out.

What temperatures can the silicone mat take?

The perforated Silikomart mat handles −60 to 230 °C, so it works in the oven and the freezer. It measures 30 × 40 cm and is dishwasher safe.

How do I get pralines out of a polycarbonate mould?

Temper the chocolate properly and it releases on its own once set. Polish the mould with a cotton cloth before filling, because fingerprints show up on the pralines.

Why use an oven thermometer?

It shows the real temperature inside your oven. The Patisse thermometer measures from 0 to 300 °C, and you can stand it on the rack or hang it from it.
