Banana Bread

Step-by-step method

Let’s cook

At a glance

You'll whip together butter, sugar, eggs, and mashed bananas into a smooth batter, then mix in dry ingredients and any fun extras like chocolate or nuts. The whole thing takes about 15 minutes to prepare, then you're baking for around 75 minutes—the trickiest part is nailing that skewer test to know when it's truly done.

  1. 1/4

    Beat the banana mixture

Beat the butter with the sugar. Add the eggs and continue beating. Mash the bananas and add them to the mixture. Keep beating until all the ingredients come together into a smooth, compact batter.

    Mix the dry ingredients

Stir the baking powder, salt and cinnamon into the flour and mix thoroughly. Combine both parts of the batter together to make a fragrant dough.

    Add something extra

Add whatever extras you fancy. We went for coconut flakes and roughly chopped chocolate. Various nuts work great too - pecans, for instance.
