Juicy Chocolate Zucchini Cake

Step-by-step method

Let’s cook

At a glance

You start with a simple batter of whisked eggs, sugar and fat, to which you add finely grated zucchini, a cocoa flour mixture, yoghurt and a dash of coffee for a richer flavour. Finally, dark chocolate goes in, the batter is simply poured into a baking tin, and after about 40 minutes in the oven you get a wonderfully moist, deeply chocolatey cake.

About this recipe

I love simple, sweet zucchini cakes. You just pour the batter into a baking tin and bake it. It's easy, quick and delicious. During the season when zucchini seem to grow like weeds in the garden, it's the perfect dessert. For a change, this time I wanted to try something really extra good and extra chocolatey. So I made chocolate zucchini brownies – or rather, a chocolate zucchini cake.
