Plum Crumble Mug Cake

Step-by-step method

Let’s cook

At a glance

This mug cake comes together in about 50 minutes total, with most of that time spent baking. You'll start by making a crumbly butter mixture, then transform half of it into a smooth batter with eggs and milk before topping everything with juicy plums and the reserved crumble—the result is a wonderfully moist, golden cake that's worth the wait.

About this recipe

It smells of buttery crumble and juicy plums. You won't be able to resist. The cake is nice and moist, which is exactly how most of us like it. Dry cakes need not apply here – no buying, no baking, no eating. I tried this recipe right away – with plums, too. But feel free to use blackberries, apricots, apples or pears instead. Whatever takes your fancy.
