Pancakes – American-Style Pancakes

Step-by-step method

Let’s cook

At a glance

You're making fluffy, thick American-style pancakes by separating and folding eggs to get that perfect rise, then quickly frying them in a pan until they puff up golden. The whole process takes about 35 minutes from start to finish, with most of the time going toward prep and cooking rather than any particularly tricky steps.

About this recipe

French crêpes are very thin French-style pancakes. American pancakes, on the other hand, are wonderfully thick and fluffy. When I was little, we called them 'amolety' at home, and they were somewhere between crêpes and pancakes. Whatever you call them, they're delicious.
