Flo's Mulled Wine Syrup

Step-by-step method

Let’s cook

At a glance

You'll caramelize a big batch of sugar, then dissolve it in water before infusing the syrup with warm spices and citrus overnight. The most important part is watching the caramel closely so it turns golden but not bitter. Once strained and bottled, this aromatic syrup keeps ready to jazz up mulled wine whenever you need it.

About this recipe

My friend Florentýna makes the best mulled wine syrup in the world! Ever since she shared it on her website, kuchařka pro dceru, we just can't get enough of it. Honestly, I don't make mulled wine any other way anymore. And since so many people keep asking me for the recipe, here it is. Thanks, Jani!
