Chocolate-Glazed Marokánky (Nut & Candied Fruit Cookies)

Step-by-step method

Let’s cook

At a glance

You're making crispy-chewy cookies by boiling cream with sugar and butter, stirring in flour, then folding in nuts and candied fruit before baking. The main time commitment is waiting for the cream mixture to come together and the cookies to bake, but the hands-on work is straightforward. A chocolate glaze finishes off these festive treats once they've cooled.

  1. 1/5

    Boil the cream

Bring the whipping cream to a boil together with the sugar, honey and butter.

About this recipe

Marokánky are wonderfully easy to make, and today I'm sharing my family recipe – marokánky just like my mum used to make. I usually bake them right at the end of my Christmas baking marathon, since I like to stir in all the leftover bits of nuts and candied fruit. Feel free to toss in a few broken pieces of other biscuits too.
