Spring Nettle Smoothie - Harness Nature's Hidden Treasures

Step-by-step method

Let’s cook

At a glance

You're blending fruit and fresh nettle together to create a nutrient-packed smoothie that takes just 10 minutes to prepare. The trickiest part is juggling the juicer attachments—banana puree first, then the apple and nettle juice, and finally fresh orange juice—but once that's done, you're basically set to enjoy your drink right away.

  1. 1/2

    Blend the fruit

Fit the puree attachment onto your juicer. Add the banana and blend until smooth. Remove the puree attachment and juice the apple together with the nettle. Finally, fit the citrus attachment, cut the orange in half and juice it. Wait until all the juice has run through.

About this recipe

The star ingredient here is spring nettle. When I was little, I suffered from anemia, and my mum used to make me nettle juice. It was disgusting - but it worked! I've got a much tastier recipe for you. In spring, nettle helps fight off that seasonal tiredness, since it's packed with vitamins and minerals, especially iron. And a lack of iron is exactly what causes that draggy, worn-out feeling. If you make a nettle tincture, you can also use it on wounds and, most notably, on burns.
