Wonderful Currant Tart with Almond Filling

Step-by-step method

At a glance

This gorgeous summer tart brings together a buttery pastry shell and a silky almond filling studded with fresh currants and jostaberries. The most time-consuming part is letting the dough chill for two hours before assembly, but the actual baking and filling work move quickly—you'll mix up the almond cream, scatter the berries over top, and slide it into the oven for about 45 to 50 minutes until the filling sets and turns golden.

About this recipe

I picked my currants — both black and red. And some jostaberries too. Then I baked a really lovely tart. The filling was inspired by the wonderful Lenka, who made something similar with strawberries the last time we visited. I'm making the most of this beautiful summer weather while it lasts.
