A tall wall isn't just for looks

During proving, it gives the batter extra support so muffins hold their shape, rise higher, and look wonderfully fluffy. Plus, a tulip case holds more batter than a classic low case. The result is a tall muffin with room to rise while keeping its signature tulip shape.

How to use the cases

Tulip cases are taller and wider than classic ones, so you don't have to place them in a tin – they hold their shape well on their own on a baking tray. If you'd like a guaranteed straight shape, though, pop them into a muffin tin. Fill them about half to two-thirds full with batter, so it has room to rise up between the points as it bakes.

Raspberry cases are just made for a garden party

These raspberry cases from PME instantly bring summer to mind. I picture a bowl piled high with freshly picked raspberries, ready to be turned into soft, moist muffins with a lovely tangy flavour and white chocolate. Best of all, they come together quickly, leaving plenty of time to relax in the garden. And that's exactly what I love about these cases – they're so charming that your muffins will look gorgeous even without any fancy decorating.
