Club Sandwich with Chicken, Cheese and Fries

·
2 servings
  1. Toast the bread and heat the oil

Preheat the oven to 200°C and place the toast slices straight on the rack so they toast golden on both sides. At the same time, heat plenty of oil in a pot or deep fryer for the fries. Keep an eye on the bread's colour so it turns out nicely crisp without burning.

  2. Prepare the chicken and fry the fries

Slice the chicken breasts, then season with salt and pepper. Carefully lower the fries into the hot oil and fry until golden. Once the toast is golden in the oven, take it out right away so it stays light and crispy.

  3. Cook the chicken and melt the cheese under a lid

In a pan, fry the bacon until crispy, then set it aside. Cook the chicken slices in the leftover fat. Once done, top with cheese and cover the pan with a lid — the steam will melt the cheese in no time while keeping the chicken lovely and juicy.

  4. Build the first layer of the sandwiches

Spread mayonnaise on two bottom slices of toast. Top with slices of ham, a mixed salad and chopped tomatoes. This base adds a fresh layer that balances out the richness of the meat and cheese. Don't be afraid to press the salad down a little so the sandwich holds together better.

  5. Assemble and cut diagonally

Spread mayonnaise on both sides of the middle toast slices and place them on top of the tomatoes. Add the chicken with cheese and the bacon. Top with the last slices of toast, spread with mayo on the underside. Secure the sandwiches with toothpicks if you like, then simply cut diagonally and serve with fries.

  6. You're done!

    Enjoy your meal!
