E-book: Linzer Cookies — The Complete Dough Guide & 7 Recipes

What's inside

Eighteen chapters are organized into four parts that build logically from theory to practice. The first part covers what linzer dough actually is, why it relies on a ratio of three parts flour, two parts butter and one part sugar, and what happens when you shift that balance. The second part digs into the mechanics — the role gluten plays, why temperature is your most important tool, and why baking soda or baking powder has no place in linzer dough.

The third part is purely hands-on. You'll go through a shopping list with the reasoning behind each ingredient, the full method step by step, a chapter dedicated to rolling pins and rolling technique, baking, filling and sandwiching the cookies, and finally storage and ageing. The fourth part includes a troubleshooting table, a cocoa dough variation and other spin-offs, modern versions that actually make sense, and ten takeaway lines you'll remember even if you read nothing else.

Seven step-by-step recipes in the app

The e-book explains the why, and the Yumsto app shows you the how. Along with the book you get seven recipes you can open straight in the app: the classic linzer round, a cocoa version, a nut version based on the original Austrian recipe, a brown-butter linzer with tonka bean, a marbled version, one with salted caramel, and the homemade vanilla sugar used in them all. Every recipe comes with step-by-step photos and a shopping list you can tick off right in the store. Each recipe in the e-book has its own QR code, so you're one scan away from it.

About the e-book

Almost fifty pages in PDF format, easy to read on your phone, tablet or computer, and just as easy to print. It's a digital product, so there's no shipping fee and nothing to wait for except the release date. The seven recipes in the Yumsto app are accessible via a link or QR code straight from the book. The guide covers classic linzer cookies, cocoa and nut variations, the original Austrian recipe, gluten-free and vegan versions, and Christmas baking in general — from choosing your flour and butter all the way to storing the finished cookies.

Eighteen chapters on why linzer dough crumbles, why it won't soften, and how to nail it every single time.

You roll out the dough, press down the cutter, and the edge tears apart. Or the rounds come out looking perfect — but three days later they're still rock-hard in the tin, and you have no idea what went wrong. Most recipes just tell you what to toss in the bowl and how long to bake it, then leave you to it. This e-book explains what's actually happening to the dough at every stage, so next time you won't just notice that something's off — you'll know why, and exactly how to fix it.</description> <parameter name="metaTitle">Linzer Cookie E-book: Dough Guide & Recipes
